Welcome to the June 30, 2010 edition of the Babywearing Blog Carnival.

Babywearing General

Natalie presents Babywearing at Naddy’s Blog, saying, “If you know me, you know I almost always have a baby on my back.”

Marcela Beatty presents mama’s babywearer posted at Culture Mami, saying, “Jeremiah was born, and I became a mama. At the time I had no idea who Dr. Sears was, much less Attachment Parenting.  I did know that I loved holding my son close, picking him up at first cry, sleeping with him, and breastfeeding.  These special moments just came to us, without reading a book, they happened.”
Kristin Hutchinson presents Babywearing Twins: Tips and Tricks for Babywearing Two posted at Intrepid Murmurings, saying, “I think a lot of parents of twins think that wearing two babies in carriers is too complicated, too uncomfortable, or just not possible — that even if you put one in a carrier, you still have to use a stroller for the other, so why bother!  Its true, some aspects of babywearing are different with twins. I wore mine at different times and in general less often than my singleton, especially as they got older.  But its still so worth it!”
Whozat presents We Love Babywearing posted at Lucy and Ethel Have a Baby: The Adventures of Shrike and Whozat, saying, “Before Peeper was born, I thought it would be a good idea to get “a sling,” or “a front pack,” but I had no idea of the huge variety of carriers out there, or how much we’d actually end up using ours.”
Steffi presents What do you think? This one, or this one or that one? posted at Mummy Do That!, saying, “How many wraps, slings and carriers can the expectant mum choose from? It’s a hard call, even if like me you have tried a good few in the past. Having had the experience of a baby who clearly resented her pram and who was rather partial to being carried (and still is), I was often seen pushing an empty pram while carrying Cubling in her front carrier.”
BWI of DC-MD-VA presents Washing and Wearing posted at Beltway Babywearers, saying, “One of the most common problems for new parents is how to keep up with housework when you have a sweet little bundle who wants to be no where more than in mom or dad’s arms.  No one wants to leave baby crying while they do chores, but sometimes those chores just must be done.  Lots of household chores can be done while wearing a baby.”
Mandy presents Babywearing Overload posted at Better Babywearing, saying, “The purpose of this post is to explain the different types of carriers, recommended brands for each type, DIY options and instructions on how to use them. I also list places to buy (and NOT buy) and why I am not a Bjorn fan.”
Meredith presents Toddler Wearing or “Why, Yes, I Do Still Wear Him!” posted at Becoming Mamas, saying, “Callum turns 18 months old tomorrow (sniff!); every day he is more and more “little boy” and less and less “baby.”  Even so, I still “baby”wear almost everyday.   The truth is that babywearing is a parenting tool that carries well into the toddler years.  I’ve had lots of people ask me if it’s uncomfortable to wear Callum now – maybe he’s too big and heavy.   I can honestly say that I can comfortably wear Callum for hours still (not that I often have the opportunity to wear for that long, but I physically could!).”

Babywearing Business

Gin G9909 presents One Cool Baby posted at Sense Scribe, saying, “Take a look into the idea of entering baby wear and accessories business at home.”

Other

Joanna Solis presents The Importance of Breast Feeding for Babies posted at BabyChubby Blog, saying, “Breast milk is important because it is a perfect food and it has many benefits for mothers too.”
Autumn Beck presents Buddha Bunz Wool Dryer Balls Review and Giveaway posted at All About Cloth Diapers, saying, “Honestly, I never really understood this love for wool dryer balls. I’m curious who the person is who came up with the whole idea. Did they one day say to themselves, “hmmm, what should I do with this crazy wool collection I have. Ah! I’ll wrap it into a ball and toss it in the dryer to help evenly dry my clothes, cut down on static and speed up the whole process!”
Isabella Smith presents 52 Tips for Natural Newborn Care posted at EKG Classes, saying, “The true scope of natural and organic newborn care stretches much further than these 52 points, but parents can use these as a viable starting point to finding more solutions suitable for their lifestyles.”
Sckoon Organic Living presents Organic Wool Baby Diaper Covers posted at Sckoon Organic Living.
Autumn Beck presents Ammonia cloth diapers burning your baby? posted at All About Cloth Diapers, saying, “We all chose to cloth diaper because it was better for our children. But, what do you do when the cloth diapers are hurting your baby? I am so sad to say that I am in this boat….”
